Domino Knights!

by Chad C. Walstrom

Domino Knights is an alternative to the numerous battle-focused, collectable card games on the market today. Instead of special cards, it uses games that you may already have in your bookshelf: a set of dominos, a deck of cards, and pencil and paper. The concept of the game is simply to defeat your opponents in battle using Knights you've trained from the Peasants of the countryside. This game is designed for two to six players.

Domino Knights is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License. This license is in the spirit of the GNU GPL and FDL licenses, but perhaps a bit more appropriate for a non-software, non-technical work, which Domino Knights certainly is.

Roadmap

Like this site, the Domino Knights document currently lacks artwork and flair, but in my honest opinion, is quite playable. There is an Appendix in the document that contains a list of TODO's, including artwork to draw, crib sheets to create, and things to clean-up. If you like the game and are interested in helping out, please feel free to send me your contributions. You will receive full credit for all your hard work!

I plan on publishing an HTML version of the document for this site, and an unmarked plain-text version for the utilitarians out there. Please, play-test the game and let me know what you think! Send email to chewie@wookimus.net with your suggestions, typo corrections, or contributions!

Mailing List

Domino Knights has an open subscription mailing list at http://lists.wookimus.net named domino-knights@lists.wookimus.net. To subscribe, either use the web interface or send an email with the subject "subscribe" to domino-knights-request@lists.wookimus.net. There currently is no archive for the list, but I'm working on that.

Chat!

An IRC chat channel has been opened up on the OFTC network (irc.oftc.net) called #domino-knights. Just open up your favorite IRC client and discuss Domino Knights live.
