Heh. Guess what? Remember when I made a utility to print out the last modified time of a file because I could not find a one that would do it for me. I was wrong. For those familiar with UNIX, you'll probably be laughing at me when I say 'See also: find(8)'. (e.g. find .plan -printf '%T@.txt\n') Anyway, I geeked out this weekend on Unreal Tournament multiplayer and Quake2 single-player. I can't say I'm proud of it, but I wasted an entire Holiday -- yes, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an official University Holiday -- on Quake2. I do have to say it plays well with my Radeon 7500 on a Debian GNU/Linux system. How far did I get on Quake2? Let's see, I shut down the factory, and proceeded to shut down the Big Gun. The only problem I ran in to was that quake2 kept crashing after I got on the escape pod and waited for the gun to blow up. For some reason, the cinematic crashes the game. I'll have to write to the quake2 people to find out what's going on. Good news. My eyes are doing well, even with the 8+ hour power gaming-session. They're a little dry right now, and I still don't dare rub them, but all in all, I'm seeing very well. I can actually use my 17" monitor at 1024x768 agian. ;-) I know there are some freaks out there that'll do 1280x1024 or even 1600x1280 on a 17" monitor, but I do like to keep my headaches to a bare minimum. I also don't think these people understand that you're supposed to be arm's length away from your monitor -- fingers extended. (No cheaters, now... keep those arms straight!) Well, time for lunch. I didn't bring one today, and it's the first day of school for the University students for this semester. Lunch will be busy. ;-( Later! ^chewie
