Weekly ~/.plan update, I guess. I'm sore, a very sore boy, indeed. Last Thursday, I believe, I bought a new pair of running shoes. I don't remember the model name, but they're the new Adidas "Cool running" shoes. Anyway, I tried them out Saturday with a 20 minute standard 60% MHR (maximum heart rate) run. It was more of a jog, but it certainly got the job done. I really liked the shoes. They had a good amount of cushion and were stable enough. I felt all the aches and pains you feel when you start running after a long hiatus. My toes even ached initially. Today, my left illotibial band (ITB) is acting up, but that's to be expected, I guess. A strange thing happened about two hours after the run. My neck "tensed up" so much that I couldn't move it far enough to either side to check my blind spots while driving. I wasn't happy. Six Ibuprophen later, I was feeling a bit better. It's still a bit sore today, but not too bad. I've been pretty good over the last week about keeping up with my workout schedule. I may put running on hold until I can get my ITB into better shape, rather rely upon the sit-down bicycle at the Rec Center to get my cardio and strength workout. I've been more intrigued with the idea of doing Yoga. Meghan has a blast doing it, so that would be something nice to share as an activity. It's a great workout for both strength and flexibility, both of which I need improvement in. My workout this morning consisted more of bicycle and a few upper arm and shoulder exercise. I did the modular chest press, assisted dips, and assisted pull-ups. I need to re-incorporate the PT exercises for my shoulders. There's a number of things that I need to do, but I also need to get back to work right now rather than spend time enumerating them for you. ;-) Have a great week! ^chewie
