It's been a while since I last updated my plan. For those following the story of Etta, our poor sick cat, I'm afraid I have to break to you some sad news. Etta didn't make it. We still did not find out what had caused her to quit eating, but she plataued in her recovery. She was strong enough to be angry with me for force-feeding her and was retaliating by refusing to use the litter box. Unlike a human, I could not impress upon her how important it was for her to eat, and she continued to refuse. After three weeks of care, we couldn't move her recovery any further forward. She will definitely be missed by both Meghan and I and our other cat, Loki. Anyway, on to better news of a more technical nature. The pnm2ppa project[1] just release version 1.11[2] of the software. Over the last week, I took some of my otherwise wasted time babysitting DLT tape drives and rewrote the Debian[3] packages for pnm2ppa. They're currently awaiting approval in the incoming queue[4], though it looks like they've migrated to the "new" queue (inaccessable from the web). In the mean time, if you'd like to test them, you can find all the appropriate files at http://people.debian.org/~chewie/pnm2ppa. I didn't apt-ify the directory, because I don't want people to rely upon that source as a distribution medium. The Debian archives trees are the place for that.
