========================================================================= = [Dragon] 1.06 - The Black Boot Inn - Morning = ========================================================================= The headache was a pain and Tawas didn't enjoy it! It was an early morning, nobody was around the beach except some fishermen. They were fixing the net. As he headed to the hotel, he felt that someone was following him. Tawas turned back and he saw nobody. He thought: my headache must be causing me to overreact. I really need some sleep. Choosing the quickest path back to the Inn, Prytz darted in and out of the back alleys of Pas du Mer. He was feeling good, refreshed, despite his slip of falling asleep on the beach while watching the drow. He had only to meditate, focus in on Tawas's breathing patterns, to awaken and leave undetected, but for reasons unbeknownst to him, he had fallen asleep. This was something that simply doesn't happen with a trained psionist; perhaps the same spell that had overcome the drow had affected him. Yes, that had to be it, he thought. There was no other explaination. The thought of that disturbed him more, however, for how could he have been detected?! He had pulled out all of his stealth tricks: camouflage, lowered body temperature, his natural wolf form...How could she have know I was there?! Could it have been an area spell? The back of the inn was in sight. Prytzouth ducked into a dark corner - which are hard to find this time of morning - and concentrated on his human form, calling on his attire as he did so. His sword appeared in his waiting hand - a precaution he had learned early in his travels, to always be prepared - which he sheathed on his back. He stepped out from the shadows and walked to the window of his room, open from last night, and peered in. Remembering he had turned down and messed up the bed covers, he searched to see if any of his companions had decided to check in on him this morning and hoping no one had decided to check in on him last night. Unsure whether his cover was blown or not, Prytzouth decided to postpone his entrance until after the drow arrived. As he contemplated what he would do in the mean time, Prytz realized he was terribly hungry and looked to the nearby forest. The need to wait for the drow was important, but the urge to hunt seemed paramount. Prytz felt a deep growl creep into his throat; he grinned and ducked into the nearest shadow... Tawas quickly went back to the hotel. He opened the front door of the inn and saw the innkeepers cleaning the tables. Tawas assumed that his companion were still sleeping, and didn't want to wake them up. So he decided to order a room for himself. The innkeeper showed him his room after Tawas had paid the fee. The innkeeper suggested Tawas to order some breakfast but Tawas was not hungry, instead he was tired and his headache had troubled his health! He wanted to get some rest before they woke up! He fell asleep shortly. * * * * * * "Tawas, are you coming?" Tawas had heard the voices before, but he could not remember it. He looked around the area. It was filled with trees... a forrest which Tawas seemed to remember. Tawas thought: I know this place but... this place brought me something special when I... was a kid. Tawas looked more carefully. On one tree he saw some writing. He then saw a little elf approaching. He recognized the little elf. He thought: this is me, now I remember, I grew up this area. It was a wonderful childhood until that day.... He saw another little elf standing beside a tree. She waved her hand to the first little elf. She said, "Tawas, I thought that you would never come." The small Tawas approached and he smiled. It was a smile that Tawas had long forgotten. The smile was warm for those were the days when life was still wonderful. The small Tawas said, "I told you that I would come whenever you need me. So what's the problem." The girl elf sighed, "My family wants to move. I don't know why but I have to go with them." The small Tawas was shocked and he said, "What are you talking about? How..." THe small elf, interrupting him, said, "It was a family decision. Farewell, Tawas. This is our last meeting...." The small Tawas was angry and he said, "NO, this won't be our last meeting. We will meet again." Her looks inquired about Tawas's words. She said, "Are you sure?" Tawas was determined to keep his words. He took a small medallion from his pocket. In his dream the older Tawas looked at this metallion with amazement. It was the medallion which the stranger had given to him. The small Tawas gave the small metallion to the elf. He smiled with bitterness, "This medallion belongs to my family. Now, you will have it. If we meet again in the future, you can show this medallion to me. This medallion will remind me of today's meeting. Farewell... we will meet again." She cried and she ran away. Tawas watched her leave and sat on a smooth rock.
