Melmar Schmidt -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Type: Warrior Appearance : Tall, Bulked, Long Red Curly Hair, Brown Eyes, Full Beard. Typical Clothing : Metal Shield and Broadsword, Chainmail. Leather gloves and boots, brown tunic and leather pants. Hair pulled back with cord. Several small pouches, quiver, sword and short bow at belt. Backpack. [N.B. From here on in is stuff that the party will eventually discover over the course of the adventure. If it can't be discovered by sheer external observation and it hasn't been mentioned in the story. You do _not_ know it] Attitude : Rarely smiles around strangers (He's quite shy). Disapproves of magick to replace "Hard work and honest sweat" Comes from a rather small and scrubby mining town to the east, and is very impressed with Montfort and the rest of the, but attempts to appear otherwise. Has problems with his self confidence. Background : Mother : Grenmor Father : Brandt Melmar grew up in the mining town of Crethmere. As the son of the local blacksmith, he worked long hours at the forge, he often managed to find the time to slip off into the woods to hunt. A few times, when tracking a wounded animal, he disappeared for days, only to return, dirty, exhausted, and smiling to his home dragging his prey behind him. At the age of 15, he studied for a while under the tutelage of Master Garn Smith, to learn to make weaponry and armor, thinking to go to some king somewhere and aquire a position as an armorer. After two years he returned home and worked for the next three as Crethmere's blacksmith, when his father decided to expand and asked him to return. Last year his brother was murdered by a passing knight and he left home, intending to avenge him. Notes : competent fighter, tracker and hunter. Good smith (Black-, weapon-, and armor-) low-level telekinetic and telepath (doesn't even know he's using them) possibly some natural talent with magick. No (real) knowledge about mythic/magic animals except goblins (frequent raids) except "travellers tales." Illiterate, but wishes to learn. The mannerisms of Melmar that would be the most noticeable : At the beginning of the trip, he would most definately be very quiet, only speaking when directly spoken to. As the trip progressed, he became more and more talkative, as he came to know the party better. Its rather obvious that he came from common folk and. until now, was never very far from his home or people. He also takes extremely good care of his armor and weaponry, checking them for corrosion or damage, every night. Now that we met up with Tawas, he has clammed up again, although not as much as at the beginning of the trip. [N.B. The reason that Melmar became so quiet on the two occasions is that he is EXTREMELY shy, not due to any prejudices. He's never even heard of a Dark Elf before] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Stoner , aka "Stoner", aka The Super-Dooper HV-Ultra Munchkin, aka Andrew of Scarborough, aka Melmar, aka Brant Gormad, aka Gudgeon.
