-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Player Character Sheet - Thwuck - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Thwuck is not the most intelligent of creatures, but his prowess, agility and speed are quite beyond that of a human or elf. Let me give you some background on him: Race: ??? Name: Thwuck Height: 5"10 (1.75m) Weight: 84 kg Appearance: GRMPH! Thwuck (Thwuck for friends) is a bulky creature of unknown origin. There are some streaks of Troll or Orc in him, but somewhere along the line some human or elven blood must have entered, for his eyes are bright blue and the hair on his head is soft and brown and cut in 'military' fashion. Not that you would notice this last detail, because sleeping in ditches for countless weeks has done nothing to improve its appearance. Right now Thwuck is a muddy grey all over. Thwuck's arms are exceptionally long, and his hands are big and powerfull. His legs are slightly bent always, which makes it appear as if he's crouching and smaller than his true height. His feet are broad, and his toes resemble claws. They are not suited for gripping however, although digging wouldn't be a problem. Thwuck's chest is broad, which fits with his overall powerfull appearance. His body is covered with short, hard hair (a bit like a worn out brush), with the exception of his head. His eyes (bright blue) are sunken in their sockets. His face is crude, unshaven and ugly. His teeth are sharp - perfectly suited for ripping flesh - but he lacks the pronounced tusks common among Trolls and Orcs. Thwuck is dressed in a crude leather suit, which shows signs of considerable wear and tear. He doesn't seem to possess much, but as he has payed for his beer in the Inn with a gold coin, he cannot be too poor... On his side he carries a mean looking morningstar (an iron ball with spikes connected to a wooden rod by a metal chain), which gives him an awesome reach in combination with his long arms. Thwuck will not ride a horse, but he is quite capable of running along all day without tiring. His thick skin protects him from cold (he has a woolen cloak in his backpack for the coming winter), and rain is a minor inconvenience. Thwuck is not smart. He can understand the Common Tongue, but has trouble speaking it. Still, his instincts are well developed, and they often prove to be more reliable than other senses. ------ Observations about Thwuck travelling from Montfort to Pas du Mer: Thwuck is quiet. He is quiet up to the point that his fellow-travellers don't know if he's actually travelling _with_ them, or just running along in the same direction. Thwuck _never_ talks about his past. He hardly talks at all. Up to some point, this is understandable. Running all day may take most of his energy (and breath), but somehow this doesn't seem likely. At the end of the day he doesn't drop down exhausted, but just sits on a rock (or bench), thinking his thoughts. When Thwuck does something, it is done quickly and precisely. His body is in perfect harmony. It is impossible for him to be unbalanced, and the coordination between various limbs doesn't seem to require any visual or mental aid. Sometimes Thwuck moves off into the woods or fields when the company holds for the night, but most of the time he returns within one or two hours. When asked what he does in that time, he replies with "Searching". No other information can be extracted from the silent runner. One night, when the company stayed at an Inn in a small village along the route, Thwuck was absent for the whole night. He returned in the morning as the others were preparing for departure. Thwuck seemed refreshed somehow; cleaner, more talkative and generally more pleasent company than the days before. ------ 'Unknown' history of Thwuck Thwuck's race is not GRMPH but Chameros. These are humanoids that have the ability to change their appearance, although not to the extent of shapeshifting entirely. It's more like taking another person's face and stature. This chameleonesque behaviour can't be triggered at will: it requires several hormones which are only available when making love. Another inhibition is that only treats of the person that a Chameros makes love with can be copied on top of the Chameros' original appearance. Thwuck has been held prisoner by Orcs in the mountains of Khurzalad far to the west of Montfort. He and his sister were captured together. The Orcs have raped Thwuck (whose true name is Tuathe-de-Wuack, which means first-child of Wuack) and his sister Morrigan-Dur (which means Crow of Gold, for she has golden eyes and black hair). The continuing sexual maltreatment resulted in a perversion of the chameleonesque capability: if Thwuck doesn't have intercourse for more than a week, his body will degenerate into an Orc-like creature. On top of that, his mental abilities change to the copied creature (or Orc) as well (which wasn't possible before the perversion). Thwuck has no control over the changes anymore. Thwuck (Tuathe) was Chief Bard for the prince of Carn-a-Duar'heth. Together with his sister he led to the troops to the front. The bards of the Chameros are warrior-bards: they wield maces and daggers. But the most deadly weapons they use are their own voices. They can literally sing a foe to death, if they know enough about him. The war-songs of the bards also inspire their own troups (up to war-frenzy). In a recent battle, the Chameros were able to drive the Orcs back into the mountain caves where they came from. After the battle, a small company of Orcs penetrated the Chameros's camp, and seized Tuathe and Morrigan. After a few months, Thwuck and his sister manage to escape. His sister can't stand the fact that her brother sees her in her perverted state and runs away after she has drugged him to sleep. Thwuck starts a search for her. His Orc-state makes hard travel a lot easier, and his body doesn't require much taking care of. When he encounters a wood-witch, he helps her with digging up some evil trees. As payment she gives him a bag of gold (which she doesn't need) and tells him about a cure: he needs grinded dragon bones, dried moon-shade (which will turn out to be a plant) and stones of air. The trail of his sister is hard to follow (she can move as fast as he can), but Thwuck thinks she will go in search of the same cure. That's why he joined the group on its trip to Dragon's Isle. On the route from Montfort to Pas du Mer, Thanin could have noticed that Thwuck goes to the local whorehouse (if one's available). Thwuck always appears refreshed (cleaner and more human) after his visits. He doesn't seem to enjoy the idea of going to one, though. This is not surprising, as he never used to PAY for love before his capture. And the months of brutal rape have done nothing to increase his desire. But the degeneration of his body and mind is unacceptable, so he makes himself go anyway. As he still is unable to control the copying function, he never takes the same woman twice, and tries to keep the instream of new appearance to a minimum. ------
